Biography

Jacinto Convit was a Venezuelan physician who developed the first effective vaccine against leprosy using a combination of BCG and killed Mycobacterium leprae. He worked on tropical disease vaccines for over 60 years and was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Medicine.
