Biography
Abhay and Rani Bang are Indian social activists and community health researchers who work in the Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra, India. They are best known for developing initiatives and programs focused on neonatal care, reproductive and maternal health, disease treatment and prevention, and rural development. Their work has been replicated in several developing countries, and adopted by the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF. In 2024, they were awarded the Padma Shri by Government of India.
